This roundtable panel recognizes Steven Smith’s retirement as Executive Director of the APSA, and return to research on nonprofit organizations. Panelists will provide their views on the next big questions in nonprofit research, including the roles (positive or negative) of nonprofits in democracies and in democratization processes, supporting citizenship capacities, representing interests, advocacy, and promoting democratic resilience.
