Session Submission Type: Roundtable
The roundtable is a space for AAPIs and women of color to discuss experiences of mistreatment and violence as political actors and political science scholars and suggestions on how to safely navigate current events and incidents. We know this problem is not new, but the rapid rise of Vice President Harris as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and subsequent racist, sexist, heterosexist messages that followed have already impacted our members and will, unfortunately, continue to do so. Panelists are invited to share their experiences of mistreatment in teaching, service, and research, how they navigated them, and contribute to a discussion of best practices for improving our individual and collective health and safety.
