Session Description

Each of the papers in this panel address core concepts and debates in political philosophy in new and exciting ways. Draper argues that democracy's justification lies in its ability to prevent political disaster rather than achieve some agreed upon good, while Cheng advocates for the inescapable need for political political theory to incorporate a political ethics. Saunders-Hastings tackles the worry of dirty money in politics, arguing that traditional critics overlook its practical importance and diverse political meanings.
