Session Submission Type: Created Panel
This panel addresses topics and questions from LGBTQ+ movements, activists, and candidates for political office around the world: What strategies do LGBTQ+ candidates use and which strategies appear to work? How do LGBTQ+ issues impact elections? What strategies can activists use to combat backlash? Which institutions are protective of LGBTQ+ rights? Panelists draw on data from activists and candidates in Brazil, Taiwan, and Canada, as well as cross-national data to address these pressing questions.
