Session Submission Type: Created Panel
This panel examines the relationship between migration and populism, both in Latin American receiving states and in diaspora. The papers ask, does immigration to a state increase support for populist candidates? Are diasporic voters abroad more likely to support populist candidates? How does large-scale return migration affect public attitudes? And what role do diasporic groups or return migrants play in the politics of their new home countries?
