Session Submission Type: Created Panel
This panel focuses on some of the most dangerous and deadly sites of border crossing in the world. The papers examine the ways in which deserts and oceans obscure the violence of border crossing. In particular, the papers also explore the role of organized criminal organizations in facilitating such crossings, and conversely the criminalization of search-and-rescue groups that operate in these spaces.
