This set of papers examine what shapes people’s support for democratic principles and attitudes toward interventions and reforms designed to improve the health of democracy. The studies have implications for our understanding of democratic backsliding and people’s willingness to tolerate antidemocratic rhetoric and violations of democratic norms.
