Session Submission Type: Roundtable
In this roundtable, we will discuss a number of existing programs in political science that seek to diversify political science by creating research opportunities for undergraduate students. These programs provide students with the type of hands-on research experience needed to thrive in graduate school, building a diverse talent pool of students studying political science. The panelists hail from a wide range of institutions, from liberal arts institutions to research intensive institutions, from private to public institutions. Each panelist will discuss the model used at their own institution, and how effective it has been in improving research training of undergraduate students and encouraging those from underrepresented/equity-seeking groups to apply to graduate school.
