Session Submission Type: Roundtable
This roundtable sheds a new light on James Morrow's scholarship, as his research contribution often goes beyond the application he had in mind, encompassing international collaboration, international security, foreign policy, and more. "Arms versus Allies" (1993) have reverberating implications for current alliance relations in international politics. "Modeling Forms of International Cooperation" (1994) offers the logic of the simultaneous presence of information and distribution problems, helping us understand how uncertainty can magnify disagreements about the allocation of resources, "Logic of Political Survival" (2003) provides enduring and parsimonious explanations for regime changes and many other political outcomes across the globe. "Order within Anarchy" (2014) casts new light on the norms and practices of laws of war in contemporary conflicts around the world. Roundtable participants will discuss various aspects of Jim Morrow's scholarship, touching upon relevance to contemporary politics.
