Session Description

This panel explores policing across three different settings: Brazil, Colombia, and India. The topics covered include support for militarized policing, the deployment of newly trained forces, the establishment of segregated police stations for minorities, as well as the consequences of increasing female police personnel. Four papers using a range of research designs highlight important questions being discussed in political science about how citizens perceive as well as experience law enforcement in the Global South.
