Utilizing 10 years of data from the F&M Global Barometers, including the F&M Global Barometer of Gay Rights and the F&M Global Barometer of Transgender Rights, this paper explores the correlation between democracy and LGBTQI human rights protections. Does the type of democracy (full, flawed, or partial) make a significant difference? What other variables/factors account for how human rights protecting countries are? The F&M Global Barometers use 27 and 17 items respectively to quantify how human rights protecting or persecuting countries are toward LGBTQI individuals.
