First Generation college students face a sometimes overwhelming hidden curriculum in higher education that can impede their studies, impact their sense of belonging, and negatively affect their likelihood of completing their degree. First Gen students of Political Science and those interested in law school face unique challenges, particularly in procuring internships, creating professional networks, and navigating the law school application process. This paper provides a research-based set of best practices for lifting the curtain on the hidden curriculum in Political Science.
