Not all affirmative action or anti-affirmative affect is the same. This research seeks to explore why some racial minorities are supportive of affirmative action in higher education, while others are not. Most of what has been written on affirmative action is centered around white opinions. However, this research seeks to focus on the attitudes of non-white individuals. Using the 2016 and 2020 Collaborative Multiracial Post-Election Survey (CMPS), this research will examine the determinants of opinions of African Americans, Asian Americans, and Latino Americans on affirmative action in higher education with the goal of getting to the heart of differences in opinion among racial minorities as institutions of higher education seek a path forward.
