A large body of work in political science has looked at how correcting and fact-checking misinformation shapes both uptake of information and overall political positions. However, to the best of our knowledge, there has been no large experimental survey to date looking specifically at efforts to correct abortion misinformation. We fill this gap in the literature by presenting results from three original survey experiments conducted in 2022 and 2023, in which we measure the effects of fact-checks and misinformation on factual belief accuracy and political attitudes. Our results suggest that abortion factual beliefs and attitudes may be harder to change compared to other issues.
