Jews respond to crisis

Tue, December 17, 8:30 to 10:00am EST (8:30 to 10:00am EST), Virtual Zoom Room 05

Session Submission Type: Panel Session

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic and the Israel-Hamas war each represent an experience of rupture for global Jewry. Whether by testing Jewish social-communal bonds, or by shattering held assumptions about the safety of Jews post-1948, these two historical events challenged the Jewish imagination.

These 3 papers each focus on challenging contemporary historical events and ways in which Jews have responded.
