Mysticism and Politics
Tue, December 17, 1:30 to 3:00pm EST (1:30 to 3:00pm EST), Virtual Zoom Room 11Session Submission Type: Panel Session
Abstract
The intersection of mysticism and politics presents an intriguing discourse, often challenging conventional perceptions. While mysticism is commonly regarded as a pursuit detached from worldly affairs, some mystical traditions and thinkers engage deeply with the socio-political realities of their time. This panel seeks to explore post modern scholars who draw inspiration from sources within Hasidic and Kabbalistic traditions, viewing these sources not only as repositories of spiritual wisdom but also as catalysts for their political perspectives and active engagement within the contemporary socio-political landscape.
