Jewish Heritage in East European Philately after World War II

Wed, December 18, 10:30am to 12:00pm EST (10:30am to 12:00pm EST), Virtual Zoom Room 11

Abstract

In this talk, I will address a variety of topics related to Jewish heritage in European philately after World War II. On the postal stamps of European countries of that time, synagogues, Jewish museums, Holocaust memorials, etc. are reflected. I will not only demonstrate philatelic items, but also seek to explain the issue of the relevant stamps in the context of the socio-political development of a particular country and the history of the local Jewish community. Special regards in my talk will go to the countries of Eastern Europe (in particular, Ukraine) and its philately.
